Personalized quick tour of Dhaka and surrounds.

With a very short time available to me to try and get a good idea about Dhaka and its people I opted to try and find someone who would help me see the major sites and experience Dhaka as best as possible. To complicate things I arrived at the start of Ramadan meaning opening times of some places would change, one of my days was a national holiday (so a lot was closed), and (due to Ramadan) availability of food slightly (but only slightly) was restricted.Rocky of Cholo Bangladesh Tours took up the challenge of getting me around. From our first communication, I could tell he was going to be a good guy. His replies to any message from me were quick and informative. He created a solo tour for me one day followed by a trip to Sonaragon and Panam City the next day. Despite Dhaka’s traffic’s best efforts to restrict our movement, we covered a lot of ground (sometimes very slowly). At times, in our rickshaw, stuck in a traffic jam on a back street, Rocky would be apologizing for the delay. The fact that an apology was unnecessary I have to confess I did enjoy being stuck and watching all the interactions between the locals.Bangladesh doesn’t get a lot of tourists so seeing a foreigner is a big thing for many here. Lots of people stare as they set eyes for the first time on a foreigner (westerner). Rocky was ever protective of me, answering their questions about this weird man he had in his company, and watchful as, those that dared to ask, took selfies with me.At no time did I feel unsafe, and even if I ever did, I always knew Rocky was there watching out for me.The people of Dhaka are curious, polite, and friendly. Many cherish the opportunity to try speaking English with a foreigner or to take a selfie and giving a few moments of your time to make it happen will mean so much more than you can comprehend, and it’ll all be done under the watchful eye of Rocky. Finally, Rocky was not only polite and courteous, he was punctual, attentive and adaptable. As he got to know me he adapted our itinerary to include/exclude to suit my likes and dislikes (and my jet lag).If I get a chance to return to Bangladesh I will without hesitation get Rocky to arrange my tour. I’ve no hesitation in recommending his services.

    Fantastic Tour of Dhaka

I had one day in Dhaka and wanted to see as much as I could. Rocky helped me arrange a special tour : Dhaka tour like a local combined with a food tour!

Dhaka is such a challenging city to navigate. We were able to see sites all over the city, when it would have taken me all day to travel to one site if I were left to my own devices.

Rocky is knowledgeable and friendly, and I learned so much about the culture! As a woman traveling alone, I felt very safe on this tour and was able to travel to places I wouldn’t be able to navigate safely alone.
I strongly recommend booking the Bangladesh like a Local tour with Cholo Bangladesh Tours.

Dhaka is not a city that can be navigated solo if you don’t know it well. The tour was fun, professional, and so rich in sights and culture.
